Victoria Park

The Queen Victoria Park is situated in the middle of Nuwara Eliya City and it’s one of the must-visit destinations. This park was named to honor the 60th Jubilee Coronation of Queen Victoria in 1897. Originally, the park was the research field of Hakgala Botanical Garden.

It has a lot of colorful flowers and very nice places to enjoy and relax. It also contains a play area for kids and a train tour for adults. This place is famous for bird watching, and there are a large variety of plants and trees available. Victoria Park comes alive with flowers, especially around March to May and August to September. There are several types of birds, such as Indian Pitta, endemic Yellow-eared Bulbuls, Sri Lanka White-eye, Scimitar Babbler, migrant Pied Thrush, Forest Wagtail, Velvet Nuthatch, Indian Blue Robin, Kashmir Flycatcher, etc.
